Tuggin' the Tuskarr

Submitted a new comic to the WoW comic contest this month. It's inspired by the Tuskarr, everybody's favorite dumpy buck-toothed race. Tried out a few new different techniques in this one, and used a few tried and true ones. I'm especially impressed with how the digital marker technique shined through, it worked well with the comic too.

I'll just let this painting speak for itself.

Unaware

This is a submission to the WoW Insider's Fan Art Contest. I gave it all I got with this one and churned it out in two nights. I'm not so sure about the premise of the painting, but I liked the way it turned out. It's got that finished, but not overworked look.

The Wrath of Professor Penguin

Continuing my penguin series, I present Professor Penguin. I'm not really sure what kind of super powers he has, but I'm sure whatever it is it's awesome.

Scriffito

I wanted to do something simple today. This was an exercise in making a piece of work with one unifying technique. I used to employ a scriffito technique on copper board covered in black paint so I tried it in a very minimalistic way here. Not sure I like how it turned out, especially with the impromptu subject matter.

Predator

I used a whimsical cartoonly style for this painting. It worked out really well, even though it has a bit of that over-worked looked to it, I'm quite satisfied. These penguin portraits have gotten me back in my groove. Soon I'll have to start on something more challenging.

Portraits of Penguins

I've decided to do a short series of works with penguins as its theme. Here is number 2.

A Bitter Wind

I haven't kept up this blog very well, after my old computer died I just didn't have the heart to do it. It will continue to serve as an art dump for now until I can do something better.
